I was wondering why Tenza's eyes were blue. Maybe to signify his developing resolve.
It's so brutal how this keeps building up characters only to make them so fleeting & fragile. It might seem like a waste to go through that trouble for characters who die off so quickly, but I think it's more about what the fallen leave behind for those who remain. I hope to see what potential blossoms from Tenza's sacrifice.
I find it ironic how blooming flora is used in this series both as an unnatural horror as well as symbolic beauty for the human heart.
NO!!! TENZA NO!!!
I thought that I was emotionally prepared in this episode. But this one slapped much. I really love their relationship with Shion. Tenza deserve better. T_T I wonder if he will appear in next season as flashback or anything.
Omg no Tenza :c I really liked him! I wonder how they can even survive those things. They don't seem like they wanna ... talk about things. Also they get power of them if they feed them to the plants alive? Did I get this right? So they are all doomed without any escape D:
I'm sad, Tenza was one of my favorites. It's a shame he had to die so soon... Also, finally Shion made a proper appearence. This was the best episode of the show so far, I think that it was better than the others cuz it actually made me emotional and did catch my attention until last second. Curious of what will happen to all these people as time goes by, most of the criminals and Asaemons are already dead...
damn wth, finally some characters I really liked, tenza, the mountain girl and the older sensei....and now tenza's gone...hopefully the sensei survives..i'm guessing he will.
even the red haired eye patch guy seems likeable but ofc he's dead too.
I have a third testicle that gives me psychic powers
Watching this show you gotta follow Game of Thrones rules for getting emotionally attached to characters I swear! Every single time I start to think "Aw I like this character" it just ends with me being sad!"
Rip tenza, honestly wish they got married at the end but this is no happy ending anime, still no weakness to the tensens that we know of. Looks like a bleak road ahead but this anime always has a card up its sleeve, so tired of people complaint about animation this and that, it’s like cod players when all they care about is the graphics and not the gun play of the game.
The best episode so far. Tenza has been one of the best characters and its truly tragic to see him go, i really wanted him and Nurugai to get married. It's also very sad how his master had to witness his defeat and death.
I wasnt expecting Tenza to have a rough childhood and it was nice to see his master take him in. I hope we see alot more of Shion and Nurugai now.
RIP Tenza
Maybe another universe Tenza and Nurgai would be together
So this ep explored that the Tensens are both male and female. They have the pale body and bright hair look. How to kill one of them.
May Shion defeat this orange-haired Tensen! I guess he won't survive the whole show with half his neck cut-off while the girl will be one of the survivors.
While the episode wasn't bad, I didn't feel sad when that guy died and I'm a sucker for good emotional moments but I just couldn't feel it here, I wasn't able to connect with him so his death was simply another: "Whatever man", I also believe his flashback dragged for way too long, why have long flashbacks just to kill the character off? I can't connect with the characters here, they are so bland, boring, or one-dimensional, I may like 1 or 2 characters but I still can't connect with them and if they die I won't feel sad, this anime is doing a bad job at making me care for the characters, well, I guess I will feel a bit sad if the wife of the MC dies, she seems nice and the anime at least is making me care a bit for her but that's it.
It's truly remarkable how this episode was able to make me care so much about three characters who hadn't gotten that much screen time in the grand scheme of things. When I say I had tears in my eyes...

Anyway, those trannies are way too OP.
@xZabuzax
They give us a whole backstory that drags on just to kill him off. I like Tenza, but didn't care that he died either
This episode highlight the problem with this 12/13 episodes format that I hate soooooo frigging much!!
Why can't we have 50 episode seasons like in the 90's ? why this 12/13 episodes crap format? I so hate it!!
There is simply NOT ENOUGH time in 13 episodes to properly develop all these characters, there's just NO TIME to "Build" a character - and what you get? you get this bullshit where they build a character for an episode and an half pushing so bad to make you care for it but there's just NOT enough frigging time! had this character alone had at LEAST 5 to 6 episodes worth of screentime, then his death would have be actually be meaningful! but like this? he was barely above a background character -- so much all wasted narrative potential down the damn drain because they had to cram everything in tiny tight 13 episodes format... such bullshit.
Boring episode, didn't care about the characters, wasted time, let's get back to the main characters now shall we? there's barely 6 episodes left now... let's waste another one or two to another background character while we're at it why not? bleh.
